<General Information>

<Regarding passports, wallets and staff support>

Upon arriving at the destination, the staff will take care of the player’s passports and wallets to avoid loss of items. The main exception is when shopping or sightseeing.
Please let us know ahead of time if you prefer the player keeps the passport and/or wallet himself/herself.
Additionally, please note that we cannot take any responsibility for loss or theft of personal belongings.

Japanese staff/coaches will support the players from departure until arrival back in Japan.
Japanese staff/coaches will also support the players in Turin not only during the tournament but throughout the entirity of the trip.

Can I apply for participation even if I don’t have a passport?

You can apply even if you do not currently have a passport but you will be required to apply for one.
The spelling of the name on the new passport must match the spelling on the flight’s ticket; when applying please make sure to write the exact spelling of the name exactly as it will appear on the passport.

<Regarding hotel rooming and laundry>
Room sizeThree to four players will share one room.
LaundryAs we want to help the players develop self-reliance through this trip, each player will try washing their uniform by hand as part of the experience. A washing machine will be available if needed.
<Regarding the flight and transit>

Where will the players meet the staff?

The players will meet the coaches and rest of the staff directly at the airport.
Please make your own arrangements for transportation to and from the airport.

I think it would be difficult for the player to pick up the suitcase at the airport by himself/herself, will the staff support him/her?

While we recommend choosing a suitcase that the player can pull by himself/herself (40L), the staff will be helping the players with their luggage until they reach the hotel.

<Other questions>

Will there be any online session to learn information regarding the expedition?

For those who wish we can hold an individual online session via Zoom.

How many local staff will be accompanying the players from Japan?

This will vary depending on the number of participants, but at least two members of staff/coaches will be accompanying the players from departure to return.
In Italy, local staff with extensive overseas experience will support the group throughout the entire process.

Can I see the daily progress of the event on SNS?

We plan to post about the activities on Instagram on a daily basis.
We will also create a LINE group with the players’ parents, staff, and coaches where we will share photos and results from time to time.

Thhe player’s school requires proof of participation. Will such a document be provided by Juventus Academy Tokyo?

Upon request we will issue proof of participation and official documents.


<Player’s belongings>

<Mobile phones>

Once the group arrives at the destination, we recommend turning off mobile phone’s data and use it in airplane mode at all times to avoid additional charges.
Accidental connection to data services could result in charges of approximately 1,000 yen/day.

Can I talk or contact my child during the expedition?

While it is possible to contact the player during the Juventus Academy World Cup, we have experienced that the players will be fully immersed and focused on the event.
The event will be only a week long, so please look forward to the many stories that your son/daughter will share after returning home!

Should I give my child a smartphone for the duration of the Juventus Academy World Cup?

It is certainly possible to bring a smartphone to the trip, but we recommend not to.
There are many different experiences to be enjoyed at the Juventus Academy World Cup and it would be a shame if the players spend time on their smartphones rather than with the group or enjoying the difference in cultures, scenery and more.

Can the players bring game consoles such as a Nintendo Switch or the likes?

As with the smartphone, this is left to the discretion of each family but we do not recommend it.
If the player brings a game console we will allow its use during flights but not during the stay.

Should I pack a rain coat/ jacket?

We highly reccomend bringing a rain jacket, so please prepare an Adidas (or non-branded) one just in case of bad weather.

Should I pack a ball?

Juventus Academy will provide material during the event.

Should I pack warm clothes for sleeping?

We recommend packing a jersey, sweater or the likes as it could get cold during the night.

Should I pack a water bottle?

Please pack a water bottle (we leave the choice of size up to the family).

Should I pack powdered sports drink?

While it is not necessary, the choice is left to the family.

Should I pack study materials?

We suggest packing a notebook and pen to write about daily activities.
The player can carry study materials if the family wishes so.

Will drinks and snacks be provided at hotels and during travel?

Mineral water is always available both at the hotel and soccer pitches.
We recommend bringing food ONlY if your son/daughter tends to eat only certain foods and/or is likely not to enjoy Italian cuisine.

Should I pack snacks or the likes?

You can pack snacks that will last for the duration of the trip, but we recommend not to pack too much.
It is also possible to buy snacks locally.


<About pocket money>

What is the suggested amount of pocket money to bring to Italy?

Through our experiences at previous editions of the World Cup, we suggest to bring around €100 but the final decision is up to each family.

When are the players expected to use pocket money?

The players will have a chance to visit the Juventus Official Store. 
Additionally, the staff/coaches will accompany the players to local supermarket during free time.

Can my son/daughter exchange money in Italy?

The players are expected to focus the tournament so we kindly ask to exchange money in advance. 
We recommend exchanging money at the airport.

Is it okay to bring banknotes only, or do I need to prepare coins as well?

We highly recommend notes (€5 or €10 notes especially) over coins.

Are food and drinks provided during transit between airports? 

While meals are provided during flights, they are not provided during transit. Therefore any food or drinks must be bought by the players with his/her own money. 
Payment at the transit airports will be done in euros, but any change will be in the local currency; please be careful not to make purchases with large euro bills.


<About laundry>

Should I pack laundry detergent and/or drying supplies?

There is no need to pack laundry supplies; they will be supplied locally.

How do the players wash their clothes by hand?

The players will wash their own uniforms in the bathroom of their room.

Will the players wash other items, or only the uniforms?

Only the uniforms will be washed.

My son/daughter has never done laundry before, will he/she be ok?

Juventus Academy Tokyo staff/coaches and experienced players will support those who are washing their clothes for the first time. Don’t worry, every player regardless of age can do it!


<About games and training>

<Number of games>

A minimum of six matches will be played by each team participating in the World Cup.
In the 2023 edition, eight games were played. 
In the 2024 edition, eight matches were played by both categories.

The first round of the tournament is a group stage of 4 to 6 teams. 
The second round of the tournament is again a group stage where the teams will be selected according to the previous group stage’s standings.

What are the players required to wear during training?

Players will wear their own official Juventus Academy uniform.

How many set of clothes/uniform do the players need?

We highly recommend to pack at least two uniform sets.Regarding casual wear, we leave the decision to each family.
Please bring a long-sleeved inner shirt (white or black) to wear if the weather is cold or if it rains.

Is there interaction with teams from other countries?

There will be many chances to interact with other teams.
Players from different teams often interact naturally with each other at venues and accommodation facilities.

Is it policy to ensure that each player has the same play time as his/her teammates?

Our policy at Juventus Academy Tokyo is to make sure that each player can play as much as possible.

Will it be possible to watch matches? 

We will do our best to stream matches as much as possible. 



<Regarding insurance, injury and illness>


Should we arrange overseas travel insurance?

Insurance for injuries or illness which take place during the tournament in Italy, is included in the expedition package.
We suggest purchasing travel insurance that covers compensation in addition to normal liability, injury, and property damage and coronavirus. Purchasing of overseas travel insurance is to be done privately and it is strictly voluntary. 


What happens if I am unable to return to my home country due to unforeseen circumstances such as injury or illness?


Please rest assured that local staff with extensive overseas experience will take you to the hospital.
The treatment fee will be reimbursed by the office, so please apply for insurance and pay after returning to your country.


Should I pack regular medicines?

Players can pack regular medicines in their luggage.
Please inform the Juventus Academy Tokyo staff regarding any health concern ahead of time.
